Cookie policy

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies the website pastnieksedamistaba.lv uses, for what purpose, and how you can manage your choice. The site is operated by SIA "Kusman 14" (dining room "Pastnieks").

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet or phone) to recognise the browser or remember your choice. In this policy we treat browser local storage (localStorage), which stores information in a similar way, as equivalent to cookies.

Cookies can be first-party (set by this site) or third-party (set by another service provider whose tools the site uses).

2. Which cookies we use and why

Necessary: without consent the site stores only one entry in your browser — pe_consent — which holds your cookie choice. Without it we could not remember that you refused or accepted, and the banner would appear on every visit.

Analytics (only with your consent): we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site — which sections are viewed, how the page is scrolled and where clicks happen, from which devices and roughly from which country or city (by IP address). Clarity creates session recordings (mouse movement, scrolling, clicks) and heatmaps. The site has no forms, and typed text is masked by default. Before consent the Clarity script is not loaded at all.

We do not use marketing cookies, embedded maps or social media plug-ins. Links to Facebook, Instagram and map apps open the respective service, where its own cookie rules apply.

Microsoft publishes cookie names and purposes but not retention periods; the periods shown were observed in a browser and may change.

3. Recipients

First-party cookies and the pe_consent entry are processed only by SIA "Kusman 14".

Microsoft Clarity cookies (_clck, _clsk, CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID, SM) are set and processed by Microsoft. Clarity is provided to European customers by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited (One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland); data is hosted by Microsoft Corporation (One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052, USA). For Clarity data Microsoft acts as an independent controller under the Microsoft Privacy Statement (privacy.microsoft.com).

4. How to accept, refuse or withdraw consent

On your first visit a banner with two equal buttons is shown at the bottom of the page: "Accept all" and "Necessary only". Continuing to browse, scrolling or ignoring the banner is not treated as consent — analytics cookies are enabled only after you press "Accept all".

You can change your choice at any time: press "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page or use the buttons under "Your choice" on this page. When you withdraw consent we stop loading Clarity, delete the first-party cookies _clck and _clsk and reload the page. Microsoft third-party cookies (CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID, SM) cannot be deleted from our domain — you can delete them in your browser settings.

Refusing has no consequences: the site works fully without analytics cookies. Your choice is stored for 12 months; after that, or after material changes to this policy, we will ask again.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as the choice "Necessary only".

5. Retention periods

The retention period of each cookie is listed in the table above. Microsoft keeps Clarity session recordings for 30 days and aggregated data (heatmaps, statistics) as well as sampled or labelled recordings for up to 9 months.

6. Transfers to third countries

Microsoft Clarity data may be processed in the United States. The transfer is based on the European Commission decision of 10 July 2023 on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which Microsoft Corporation is certified, and on the EU standard contractual clauses between Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited and Microsoft Corporation.

7. Profiling

Analytics data is pseudonymised and used only for statistics and improving the site. We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects, and we show no advertising. Microsoft may use the MUID cookie for advertising on its own sites — that is a purpose of Microsoft, not ours, and is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

8. Your rights and contacts

You have the right to access your data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict or object to processing and to withdraw consent. Requests can be made by calling +371 63 622 396 or by writing to the controller's registered address. See the Privacy policy for details.

If you believe your data is processed unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija, Elijas iela 17, Rīga, LV-1050, pasts@dvi.gov.lv, www.dvi.gov.lv) or the supervisory authority of your country of residence.

Here you can give or withdraw consent to analytics cookies. Withdrawing consent deletes the Clarity cookies and reloads the page.
